Launched in 2009, the company has grown rapidly in recent years, with its current development activity totalling over £2 billion in value, £1.24 billion of which is across the West Midlands region.

Some of the company’s headline regional investments include: the planned £250 million Connaught Square development which will play a key role in the transformation of Digbeth, and St George’s Urban Village, a £136 million, 603 apartment development that has revived a significant area of Birmingham’s renowned Jewellery Quarter.

SevenCapital has also been key in the rejuvenation of the Five Ways area of Birmingham city centre, carrying out more than 1 million square feet of redevelopment activity, including the Park Regis hotel and The Lansdowne – Birmingham’s second ever purpose built PRS development.

From its base in Birmingham, SevenCapital has established offices in key global property markets, including Dubai, Hong Kong, Switzerland and South Africa, as well as its second UK base in London. For the last three years, the company has been listed multiples as one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK by the London Stock Exchange in its annual list of ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’.

Why the West Midlands?

With plans to deliver new levels of connectivity in the pipeline, such as HS2, HS3, the Midland Metro Extension and improvements to the M6, the West Midlands is fast becoming the UK’s destination for investment.  As more businesses move in, there is a greater demand for high-quality housing, commercial and leisure spaces to accommodate a growing population.

SevenCapital recognised this potential early on, against the forming backdrop of over-saturation and over-inflation in London and, since launch in 2009, has fast become one of the region’s major developers.

The West Midlands continues to rank as the most attractive region for foreign investment outside London and the South East, which in turn is fuelling unprecedented levels of opportunities for developers across commercial, hospitality and residential property.

Phil Carlin, managing director at SevenCapital, said:

“The West Midlands is brimming with investment potential, which is now being recognised by individuals, global businesses and developers alike. In the midst of a renaissance, the region is becoming a place for people and business to thrive, globally, offering unrivalled connectivity, amenities and opportunity for growth. It’s an exciting time to do business here.”

A local ambassador

“The West Midlands Growth Company is a crucial organisation for connecting businesses in the region and bringing everyone together to promote the world class offering we have here. We take pride in being an ambassador for the West Midlands, and I would encourage any businesses that share our confidence in the region to get involved with the West Midlands Growth Company and join the campaign to place the West Midlands firmly on the global stage.”
